Over the eleven years since Gorebridge and District Environmental Group (G.A.D.E.G) began, we have planted trees, shrubs and thousands of spring bulbs in various places around the village.
We maintain the Gorebridge Circular Walk, which was officially opened in August 2008 and the New Gore Way Walk, both of which are shown on the free walk leaflets below and are also available in the local libraries and from No.58 Main Street, Gorebridge.
A wildflower garden, created and tended by members at Newbyres Castle, Newbyres Community Garden, is hoped to encourage growth of butterfly numbers in the area.
We are always looking for new members to join our group of volunteers to help us in our efforts to make Gorebridge and the surrounding areas more environmentally friendly.
We ask for a nominal fee of £1.00 to register as a member of the group. A large membership is beneficial when applying for grant funding.
Our constitution requires us to spread the environmental message as widely as possible, especially among the young, but age is no barrier.
To become a member please fill in a form which can be found at the Library or No.58 Main Street, Gorebridge.
If you have any questions, please contact one of the group;
