Things you need to know about this walk:
Walkers will start and finish at The Beacon. Please try and be there 15 minutes before your start time. Both walks will have walk leaders who will show you the way. Walkers are responsible for their own safety and should take care accordingly. We will be crossing roads and walkers should obey the Highway Code and only cross when it is safe to do so. All under 16 year olds must be under the close supervision and control of a parent/guardian as leaders are not responsible for the safety of children.
These wonderful countryside walks are approximately 10 miles long and include open meadows, woods, quiet lanes and riverside. You will be walking in grass, on some steep muddy paths, through undergrowth and overhanging branches and there are some steep steps, stiles and fences to negotiate. At times the path is very close to open water and great care is needed. These walks are only suitable for walkers with stout walking boots and appropriate clothing for the weather. They will take between 5 – 6 hours and you will need to bring plenty of refreshments for the day. There are places along the route where you can leave if you find the walk more challenging than expected – please tell the walk leader if you leave.
