DESCRIPTION:When: Saturdays 4th April – 16th May (not 9th)\, performance at the Beacon 23rd May 12:00 – 2:00PM \nWhat: Fancy a laugh? Do you think you’re funny? Would you like to try stand-up comedy? Everyone has a story to tell and everyone has the ability to make people laugh. Stand-up comedy workshops are also a great way of improving confidence\, self-esteem\, communication skills and general well-being. The 6 week course will cover:  writing your own material\, comedy structure\, stage persona\, comic timing\, microphone technique and performance skills. \nThe workshops will be led by comedian and Penicuikian Viv Gee whose past students include Richard Gadd\, Mark Nelson\, Jay Lafferty\, Susie McCabe\, Des McLean and Des Clarke. Viv has performed stand-up from L.A to Bangkok and has numerous TV and radio credits including The Comedy Underground\, The Stand-Up Show and The Good\, the Bad and the Unexpected for BBC. DESCRIPTION:When: Saturdays 4th April – 16th May (not 9th)\, performance at the Beacon 23rd May 12:00 – 2:00PM \nWhat: Fancy a laugh? Do you think you’re funny? Would you like to try stand-up comedy? Everyone has a story to tell and everyone has the ability to make people laugh. Stand-up comedy workshops are also a great way of improving confidence\, self-esteem\, communication skills and general well-being. The 6 week course will cover:  writing your own material\, comedy structure\, stage persona\, comic timing\, microphone technique and performance skills. \nThe workshops will be led by comedian and Penicuikian Viv Gee whose past students include Richard Gadd\, Mark Nelson\, Jay Lafferty\, Susie McCabe\, Des McLean and Des Clarke. Viv has performed stand-up from L.A to Bangkok and has numerous TV and radio credits including The Comedy Underground\, The Stand-Up Show and The Good\, the Bad and the Unexpected for BBC. DESCRIPTION:Come along to the Beacon Play Cafe! \nThe café will be open and there is a dedicated space for pre-schoolers to play\, we have plenty buggy space and staff will be on hand for a blether.   \nThe café is a great place to meet with other parents/carers\, and make new friends. We have highchairs available and plenty changing facilities. Siblings are more than welcome to come along\, however the play area is really suitable for under 5’s. \nCost: £3 per child. Pay at cafe. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Gorebridge Community Pantry
DESCRIPTION:The Pantry is open to all households/residents of EH23\, anyone who lives in this Post Code area can apply to become members of the Pantry and ‘shop’ there once a week. Membership is limited to 1 person per household. Membership is free\, and weekly ‘shop’ costs £3.50 which is put back into buying stock into the Pantry the following week. Each member receives 10 credits for £3.50\, and these credits can be used to ‘spend’ on fresh\, ambient or store-cupboard ingredients. If available\, free bread will be offered\, and volunteers will make each member a bag of fresh fruit and veggies. \nThe Pantry is open to EVERYONE who lives in EH23. Pop along to the Beacon 3 until 5 on a Tuesday and we will sign you up and you can do your shop.
