DESCRIPTION:Taking in Vogrie House then Borthwick and Crighton Castles\, this 10-mile walk will take in breath-taking scenery of our countryside. Bring a camera as it’s beautiful this time of year. Meet 10: 00 AM at the Beacon. \nTo Book: http://gorebridge.org.uk/walking19/ \nThings you need to know about this walk: \nWalkers will start and finish at The Beacon. Please try and be there 15 minutes before your start time. Both walks will have walk leaders who will show you the way. Walkers are responsible for their own safety and should take care accordingly. We will be crossing roads and walkers should obey the Highway Code and only cross when it is safe to do so. All under 16 year olds must be under the close supervision and control of a parent/guardian as leaders are not responsible for the safety of children. \nThese wonderful countryside walks are approximately 10 miles long and include open meadows\, woods\, quiet lanes and riverside. You will be walking in grass\, on some steep muddy paths\, through undergrowth and overhanging branches and there are some steep steps\, stiles and fences to negotiate. At times the path is very close to open water and great care is needed. These walks are only suitable for walkers with stout walking boots and appropriate clothing for the weather. They will take between 5 – 6 hours and you will need to bring plenty of refreshments for the day. There are places along the route where you can leave if you find the walk more challenging than expected – please tell the walk leader if you leave. \n

Sessions must be booked in advance as space is limited. \nAn adult is expected to stay in the session to create alongside the child\, offering assistance\, support and encouragement where needed. \nSome of the activities we could explore during our sessions (specific activities will be announced the beginning of that week) : \n\nT-shirt refashion\nHow to make T-shirt yarn\nWeave/braid a table mat or rug\nMake a dog toy\nBike streamers\nT-shirt shopping bags\nUpcycled junk jewellery\nSimple fabric printing/painting\nMake your own headband or hair clip\nPillow case dresses\nMake a simple cushion/ cushion cover\nSimple hand embroidery\nSimple hand applique/patching\n\nIf you have any ideas on what you’d like to re-make or upcycle with your child\, please let us know. \nThis workshop is funded by Scottish Government Climate Challenge Fund.
