DESCRIPTION:We hope you can join us at the Gorebridge Beacon on Saturday the 5th of November (1.30 – 5PM) as we delve into the heritage of Gorebridge with an afternoon of soup\, stories and song. We will also lay out for you the Gorebridge Archives. \nAs part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival* we will be joined by a Storyteller who will be telling the tales of Camp Meg\, Annie Swan\, the riot at Gorebridge Police Station\, the fatal explosion at Gorebridge Gunpowder Works and the life of the Pit Pony. \nYou can take part in the Daunder Walk where you will learn about Nancy Teuch (yes\, that path)\, the Emily Pit and Baths\, the North and South Bings and Laundry Cottages – where you will learn about the most recent find in Gorebridge. \nAt the heart of the day is the sharing of stories\, welcoming people\, and kindness. You will have lots of time to talk together at our Fable Table where you can reminisce with others throughout the afternoon. \nSo\, what’s your story? What do you want to share? DESCRIPTION:Our Baby Bees classes give your little one a full sensory experience. All our classes focus around the singing voice\, a lot of which is unaccompanied. Unaccompanied singing gives the child a focus with little other distraction\, starting their journey listening to pitch. \nWe also play a range of percussion instruments to our babies in these classes – some are played by the teachers\, giving them a sensory experience through sound and sight. We will set the Beacon Halls up ‘cabaret style’ – tables of 4 or 6\, BYOB\, get together with friends and family\, sing along\, all welcome.  \nThis classic film musical with score by Irving Berlin is essential pre-christmas viewing with a stellar cast and classic songs including White Christmas\, Sisters\, Snow and Gee\, I Wish I Was Back in the Army. \nSingers Bob Wallace (Bing Crosby) and Phil Davis (Danny Kaye) join sister act Betty (Rosemary Clooney) and Judy Haynes (Vera-Ellen) to perform a Christmas show in rural Vermont.
