DESCRIPTION:We hope you can join us at the Gorebridge Beacon on Saturday the 5th of November (1.30 – 5PM) as we delve into the heritage of Gorebridge with an afternoon of soup\, stories and song. We will also lay out for you the Gorebridge Archives. \nAs part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival* we will be joined by a Storyteller who will be telling the tales of Camp Meg\, Annie Swan\, the riot at Gorebridge Police Station\, the fatal explosion at Gorebridge Gunpowder Works and the life of the Pit Pony. \nYou can take part in the Daunder Walk where you will learn about Nancy Teuch (yes\, that path)\, the Emily Pit and Baths\, the North and South Bings and Laundry Cottages – where you will learn about the most recent find in Gorebridge. \nAt the heart of the day is the sharing of stories\, welcoming people\, and kindness. You will have lots of time to talk together at our Fable Table where you can reminisce with others throughout the afternoon. \nSo\, what’s your story? What do you want to share? DESCRIPTION:Our Baby Bees classes give your little one a full sensory experience. All our classes focus around the singing voice\, a lot of which is unaccompanied. Unaccompanied singing gives the child a focus with little other distraction\, starting their journey listening to pitch. \nWe also play a range of percussion instruments to our babies in these classes – some are played by the teachers\, giving them a sensory experience through sound and sight. DESCRIPTION:Christmas wouldn’t be the same without a visit to Santa. We tried to do this last year\, but we all know what happened. So\, this year\, 2021\, we are meeting the Big S\, for brekkie. Unless anyone tells use we can’t. And\, if they do\, we will offer a full refund. \nPlease come and join us for Breakfast with Santa on either Sunday 5th or 19th December. Adults are £8\, children (under 12) £5 and under 3’s come free. \nBreakfast includes: \nPancakes with topping pots of banana\, blueberries and chocolate sauce and a carton of apple or orange juice & a wee pressie from Santa. \nFor the grown-ups: \nOption of snowman pancakes or hot filled breakfast roll and tea or coffee\, sorry\, no pressie from Santa! Sad we know\, but hey?! \nUnder 3s: \nYogurt and fruit pot and a carton of apple or orange juice \nChild ticket includes a pressie from Santa.

DESCRIPTION:Let it go! \nLet it go! \nCan’t hold us back anymore! \nThe cold never bothered you anyway! \nCome and join us when we show Disney’s movie Frozen at our pop-up community cinema within the Beacon on the 3rd December at 3.30. \nFearless optimist Anna sets off on an epic journey\, teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven to find her sister Elsa\, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions\, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf\, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom. \nTickets £4 (child\, under 12) and £5 (adult) and can be purchased here on the website. All children must be accompanied by an adult. \nCOVID-19: if for any reason we feel this activity is ‘unsafe’ or Scottish Government Guidelines change between now and 3rd December to host\, we will offer a full refund. Face coverings must be worn until seated. You will be seated in your household group\, 1m apart from another household.
