Gorebridge Community Development Trust is a community-owned and managed Scottish Charity helping the community regenerate Gorebridge, alleviate the impact of post-industrial decline and create a vibrant, dynamic, proud and close-knit community. The Trust is at the heart of community, economic, environmental and social regeneration activity, and has active partnerships with statutory and local agencies working across a wide range of issues concerning Gorebridge. The Trust has a 13-year track record in successfully developing a wide range of community initiatives.
Gorebridge Community Development Trust are recruiting for their Greening Gorebridge project team. The project will engage with the Gorebridge communities for a series of new environmental initiatives that focus on low carbon travel, waste reduction, community fridge and up-cycling resources. Reporting to the Trust Project Manager the team will be responsible for delivering the community aspects, bringing vital volunteering and training to the people in the Gorebridge area.
A creative and environmentally minded individual is sought to plan, deliver and facilitate creative workshops that have volunteers designing and creating items that can be exhibited and may be sold locally from the Railway Station cafe & gallery.
The Coordinator will work closely with other Greening Gorebridge project staff and other agencies/partners. The focus is on creating a circular economy model using locally sourced materials that are ‘too good to waste’
