Kids Upcycle Club- Friday Afternoons
An event every month that begins at 12:00 pm on day Third of the month, repeating indefinitely
Email jaimie.macdonald@gorebridge.org.uk to BOOK your place
Parents and Children can join us for an after school session of making upcycled projects from textiles, revamping old clothes, making new things from fabric and experimenting with decoration and repair techniques.
Sessions will mostly be suitable for children aged 7 upwards. Sessions must be booked in advance as space is limited.
An adult is expected to stay in the session to create alongside the child, offering assistance, support and encouragement where needed.
Some of the activities we could explore during our sessions (specific activities will be announced the beginning of that week) :
- T-shirt refashion
- How to make T-shirt yarn
- Weave/braid a table mat or rug
- Make a dog toy
- Bike streamers
- T-shirt shopping bags
- Upcycled junk jewellery
- Simple fabric printing/painting
- Make your own headband or hair clip
- Pillow case dresses
- Make a simple cushion/ cushion cover
- Simple hand embroidery
- Simple hand applique/patching
If you have any ideas on what you’d like to re-make or upcycle with your child, please let us know.
This workshop is funded by Scottish Government Climate Challenge Fund.
