Veg boxes from the Beacon, delivered to your door.
The story of behind why you can order a veg box from the Beacon is here. We aren't shy about sharing it.
Why Beacon veg boxes? Because we know that food is best when it's local, fresh and in season.
We believe that veg boxes is a good idea because you told us you would like to see something locally.
We plan to deliver you the best locally produced food. We are sourcing.
We want to work with more producers. We know the impact 2020 is having, and we do wonder if we can help you.
If you ever want to know where food is coming from, please ask, we will let you know.
Before Covid-19 we didn't think that we would ever be offering veg boxes. But you asked for them. So we have created it. Why not? Our plan is to remain local. As much as possible. We will always tell you in the boxes where your produce has been made. We want to support local suppliers and if that's you. please do get in touch.
We aren't doing this because we are Veggie Gurus, we are doing this because we believe that fresh, local, affordable good food should be available to all. That means that we aren't in this to make a profit. We are non-profit. We are doing this to provide a service and in doing so hopefully to create an additional income for the Trust and the Beacon.
By ordering a veg box from the Beacon in return for you receiving your goods, you are making a difference and doing something good. This could be supporting a group that uses the Beacon, paying for a light switch that goes on when someone is receiving help and guidance, or for the ingredients for a lunch club or community supper.
We have a community fridge. However, for the veg boxes will be paying suppliers, producers and growers the rate they believe their produce is worth. Some of them will be very small. We aren't growers, although we have a growing space. We are hoping that the veg boxes will help you, the Beacon and them by paying the going price.
